Intercessory Prayer

Intercessory Prayer reaches out to a hurting community
Whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:6)

The Intercessory Prayer Group is available to provide intensive, focused, confidential prayer support for those in acute emotional, physical or spiritual need or distress. The prayer group members are committed to the power of prayer and the comfort it brings. The mission is available to parishioners, their families and friends. We believe that this mission is consistent with Christ’s compassion.

Someone can be placed on the Intercessory Prayer list by contacting the clergy, the office or Joe Schick. A red box containing prayer cards is in the back of the church on the table under the bank of light switches. Please complete one of the cards and put it in the offering plate or hand it to any of the people listed below. Remember that this list is strictly confidential. All requests go to Joe who contacts the members of the prayer group with the name(s) and enough information to focus the prayers. People requesting the prayer are contacted to assure them that the name has been received and ascertain if any assistance is needed. The individuals will be held up in prayer regularly until the end of the following month. If you wish to continue this person in prayer, then just contact us. If people who have been on the list have the misfortune to suffer another acute situation, then they are welcomed back on the list at any time. If requested, a card is sent to the person in need. Also a card may be sent to a grieving family.

If you have any questions, please contact Joe Schick or the office.
