J2A News

As we turn the page on the calendar to the New Year, the J2A Youth Group is especially excited as 2008 is the year of our Pilgrimage!  Thanks to the efforts of many, we have exceeded 50% of our fundraising goal.  In the next weeks and months, there will be many opportunities to receive cooking help, hear a national-caliber speaker and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day — all sponsored by J2A!

Hovey, AIA, distinguished architect, preservationist and past Director of Preservation, Executive Office of The President, will give an illustrated lecture An Insiders View of Working in the White House Complex, Sunday, January 27th, 2008 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 36 Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore, PA.  A free will offering of $10 admission is requested and refreshments will be available.  Proceeds will support St. Mary’s youth ministry and community outreach programs.

Lenten Quiet Day

Parish Hall

Gathering Grace: Contemplation in the midst of transitions and transformation
Times of transition and transformation may offer the opportunity to special moments of grace — which is really God’s communication of God’s very life to us.  This Lenten quiet day will be an opportunity to pause (because pausing is good!) and give attention to the present experience of God in our lives.  There will be time for prayer, personal reflection, and conversation as we all gather ourselves at this time of preparation for Easter.

Movie and reflection and potluck dinner

Friday, February 29, 6:30 to 10:00 PM
Home of Rev. Judy

Rev. Judy and Sarah Boote invite you to an evening of fellowship and reflection as we watch the movie Spitfire Grill.  It is a powerful film for a mature audience weaving themes of injustice, prejudice, forgiveness, and redemption — especially appropriate for the Lenten season.

RSVP to the Parish Office 610-649-1486.  Please let us know what dish you will bring.

Every human being gets hurt in ways both big and small, and in turn we sometimes inflict hurt on others.  There comes a time when we face the difficult choice to forgive others and to forgive ourselves.
Part I: What is forgiveness?
Part II: Why do we need to forgive and how is forgiveness possible?
