ST. MARY'S STAFF

The Rev. Sean Lanigan
Rector

The Rev. Sean Lanigan is delighted to serve as the 17th Rector of St. Mary’s, joining the community in December 2019. Before that, Sean was Associate Rector at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Center City Philadelphia and began his ordained ministry in Long Beach, California, working with college students and young adults.

Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sean studied at the Putney School, Brown University, Yale Divinity School, and the General Theological Seminary. Before ordination, he taught high school and college English and worked as an academic advisor at a liberal arts college. Sean also has deep roots in interfaith work.

Sean is passionate about building faith communities where people are known and valued, and where relationships and the Gospel inspire generosity and justice. He loves St. Mary’s joyful worship, inclusive spirit, and commitment to outreach.

Sean lives with his husband, Luke Cooper, and their dog, Chickpea. He uses he/him pronouns and welcomes being called “Rev. Sean” or simply “Sean.”

Dr. Clair Rozier
Director of Music

Dr. Clair Rozier is a church musician, organist, conductor, and teacher. She recently retired after 25 years as Director of Music and Organist at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Wayne, where she built a vibrant music ministry and oversaw the installation of the Dobson, Opus 84, organ. Her leadership included choir residencies at cathedrals in the UK and Ireland.

Over her forty-year career, Clair has performed hundreds of organ recitals across the U.S. and Europe. She is dedicated to highlighting the work of women composers and served on the board of the Women’s Sacred Music Project, which published Voices Found (2003) and Resounding Voices (2023).

A Washington, D.C. native, Clair earned her degrees from Goucher College, Cincinnati Conservatory, and Eastman School of Music, with additional study in France under Marie-Claire Alain.
A longtime member of the American Guild of Organists, Clair has served the Philadelphia Chapter in multiple leadership roles, performed and led workshops nationwide, and taught at AGO Pipe Organ Encounters.

She lives in Ardmore with her husband, John, daughter, Meredith, and two cats, Jack and Silas.

Michelle Germaine
Minister of Children, Youth, & Families

Michelle Germaine, originally from Connecticut, moved to Philadelphia in 2018 to study music, youth ministry, and biblical studies. After graduating magna cum laude in 2022, they became Worship Coordinator at Mosaic Community Church.
Passionate about music and leadership, Michelle has led various ministries and enjoys connecting with people and engaging in theology. In their free time, they cook, bartend, and volunteer with shelter dogs. They now teach music at Meridee Winters School, discovering a love for working with kids.

Francesca Applewhite
Director of Operations and Communications

With an undergraduate degree in studio art, Francesca has a longstanding love and passion for ceramics.  Through her past work, she has not only crafted beautiful pots but has also cultivated a sense of community by imparting her ceramic skills to others, fostering creativity and connection wherever she goes. Francesca's multifaceted experiences underscore her dedication to the arts, community engagement, and the joy of sharing these passions with others.  In addition to her artistic pursuits, Francesca shares her life with a delightful Bernedoodle named Luca Meatball, adding a touch of joy and companionship to her daily routine.

Leslie Martin
Interim Manager of the Ardmore Food Pantry 

Leslie is honored to serve as the interim manager of the Ardmore Food Pantry.  In addition to being an active volunteer at the food pantry,  Leslie has been a St. Mary's parishioner for over ten years.  She served on the St. Mary's Vestry as the Accounting Warden from 2019 - 2021 and is a current member of the Vestry. She also leads the St. Mary's Altar Guild.  

Leslie holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and an MBA from LaSalle University.  Her professional career has been diverse, starting out in social work monitoring foster care placements. She then worked as an executive assistant and professional meeting planner. For twenty years she worked as a financial data and reporting manager at Morgan Stanley.

Leslie and her husband, daughter, son and Labrador Retriever live in the Penn Wynne section of Wynnewood. In her spare time, you might find her teaching a group exercise class at the Haveford YMCA, pulling weeds in her garden, studying Spanish or setting the altar and decorating the church for the holidays. She loves flowers and is available to create a bouquet for any one at any time!
